About this Course

Parent and Child Aquatics introduces you and your child to basic skills. One parent or guardian must work in the water with the child under the direction of the instructor. As parents, you learn how to safely work with your child in the water, including how to appropriately support and hold your child in the water and how to prepare and encourage your child to participate fully and try the skills. In addition, you are introduced to several water safety topics. Your child receives an introduction to basic skills that lay a foundation for learning to swim. Swim diaper and necessary swim wear for participants mandatory in the water (CA health code). In Preschool Aquatics Level 3, our instructors follow a plan to introduce new swimming and water safety skills that are developmentally appropriate for young children and help further your child’s development or water competency. Level 3 skills are performed independently. • Jump into shoulder-deep water • Fully submerge and hold breath • Bobbing • Rotary breathing • Front glide and recover to a vertical position • Front, jellyfish and tuck floats • Back glide and recover to a vertical position • Back float • Change direction of travel while swimming on front or back • Tread water • Combined arm and leg actions on front • Finning arm action on back • Combined arm and leg actions on back • Water Safety Topics Refund/Transfer Policy: • 31 days or more BEFORE the start date of the class, 25% of fee is kept. • 11-30 days BEFORE the start date of the class, 50% of fee is kept. • 10 days or less BEFORE the start date of the class, 100% fee is kept. • All transactions are subject to a $10 administration fee per person.
